4 things we learned from our FIRST styled shoot

 Hey!  What’s up!  Hello!

Hmm, where do we start?!?!  Our first styled shoot was a success but we had a few hiccups along the way.  On the day of the shoot, our female model cancelled at the last minute.  YIKES!  We all immediately went into panic mode.  The shoot was scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and we received her email at 1:26 p.m.  Where were we supposed to find a female model at the last minute that also wore a size 2?!?

This leads us to point #1: 1.          Always have a plan B!      Sometimes things happen that are beyond anyone’s control, that’s life!  But, when they do, we must not panic, we should just move on to our Plan B.  Always OVER PLAN!  Failing to plan is like planning to fail.   Remember that! Thank God for friends!  Our friend stepped in and did an amazing job during her modeling debut!   She worked the camera!  *AIR SNAPS*

         2.          Preparation is key!      Prepare for success.  To-Do List ✓ … List of all participating vendors ✓ …. Day of time line ✓ … Vision Board ✓         We live by lists.  We literally make lists for everything, hey, it is what keeps us on track.  Having all lists in a centralized location (online of course) makes everything so easy to find and reference when needed. 3.          Communication is vital!      Is there a such thing as over communication?!?  We don’t think so!  Make sure all the vendors know their role and allow them to focus on their strengths.  Be sure to communicate your vision, people will not read your mind.      And most importantly, MAKE SURE EACH VENDOR KNOWS WHAT TIME TO ARRIVE!  We are not fond of late people!  *side eye* 4.            HAVE FUN!      Enjoy doing what you do best.  We worked very hard to make our styled shoot a success.  Whether it is photography, floral design, bartending, DJ’ing, event design, etc. finesse it!  Laugh, design, create, and best of all…DANCE!    :-)
